Italian artistic traditions are well known-according to UNESCO, over 60% of the world’s art treasures are found in Italy. Italian is an important language for research in art history, music, philosophy, literary studies, and archeology.
Today’s Italy is also a throughly modern country, one of the world’s eight most industrialized nations. Contemporary Italian society pushes the envelope in such fields as the performing arts, cinema, design, sports, fashion, and industry. Italy also plays a key role in the tourism industry: in 2001 Italy was ranked as the world’s fourth most-visited tourist destination, with 39 million visitors. Knowledge of the Italian language is a tremendous benefit for careers in business and trade.
But most of all, learning Italian with us is a lot of fun!
